The very welcome return to Chichester of Scott Hamilton and his regular Quartet is augmented by the presence of the highly regarded vibraphonist Nat Steele. Scott was originally attracted by the sound of Johnny Hodges. He worked with an impressive list of jazz greats before joining Benny Goodman with whom he continued to work after forming his own quartet in 1977. More than eighty albums later he is still recording and has just finished one where his Quartet is joined by tonight’s guest Nat Steele. You may well get a preview of it tonight! Nat has wide experience from playing with a cross-section of prominent UK musicians over the years. His first album as leader won many four and five star reviews for his inventive playing in both lively and lyrical styles.
