Nat Steele - Portrait of the MJQ
Poise and swing marked the original MJQ, tonight’s group had it too. Deceptively laid back, you felt that your foot had worked overtime - by half time. Starting the second half to a driving rendition of Django right through to the finale of The Stopper, MJQ had no reason to turn in their graves, but could be felt leading the applause.
Nate Steele - vibes, Chris Eldred - piano, Matt Fishwick - drums, Dario Di Leece - bass.
