After the fantastic reception this trio received on their first visit we await, with much enthusiasm, to hear compositions from their recent CD which has been released to mark the 800th year anniversary of the Magna Carta signing. We also hope for a taste of their latest project.
Regarding the Magna Carta, Alex Hutton says, ‘Taking inspiration from the countryside around my daily dog walking duties, I’ve composed a whole album of music. The history surrounding Wraysbury and Runnymede runs deep. The ancient woodland of Ankerwycke shelters a 2000-year old Yew tree. Some say 2300 years… When you’re looking up at the branches under which Roman soldiers would have gathered (perhaps to discuss the building of aqueducts) - the first thing you think is: if the tree could talk - what stories it must have …’
Alex had some very talented people to help get this recorded and they are with him here at CJC in the form of the fantastically lyrical bass player Yuri Goloubev, and the palette of powerhouse drumming from Asaf Sirkis.
Line-up: Alex Hutton – piano, Yuri Goloubev – double bass, Asaf Sirkis – drums.
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
