‘Probably Britain’s greatest jazz guitarist to emerge since Martin Taylor’. This endorsement by Digby Fairweather gives an indication of what to expect from the massively talented 27 year-old Remi Harris.
One of the major influences on his playing was that of the legendary Django Reinhardt and he has taken his trio to sell-out venues throughout the UK as well as being featured in the annual celebration of gypsy jazz at Samois, France.
His trio primarily plays gypsy jazz but this is refreshed and stimulated by elements of blues, bebop, rock and world music.
The group’s debut album, ‘Ninick’, received rave reviews and the second album is much anticipated.
‘This is true jazz, yet it has a delightfully refreshing approach that brings a smile to the face while the ears are amazed at what they are receiving.’ Guitar Techniques Magazine.
Line-up: Remi Harris - guitar, Caley Groves - guitar, Mike Green - bass.
All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
