Simon Allenís superb playing first came to light in the National Youth Jazz Orchestra after which he graduated from The Royal Academy of Music to become an in-demand professional, playing with the likes of Stan Tracey, Clark Tracey, Laurence Cottle and with artists as diverse as Jamie Callum, Eric Clapton, Katie Melua and Paul McCartney.

His versatility and virtuosity has seen him playing constantly all over the world in a variety of settings and we are lucky to have been able to break into his busy schedule and include him and his quintet in our programme.

In addition to his extensive playing commitments he has recently been appointed Head of Jazz at the Purcell School of Music. Simonís acclaimed recent album ĎAny Minute Nowí featured his own multi-coloured compositions and was performed by the brilliant musicians who will be joining him at the Pallant Suite.

Line-Up: Simon Allen - soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, Quentin Collins - trumpet, Laurence Cottle - bass, Tom Cawley - piano, Mike Bradley - drums.

All meetings start at 7.45pm - doors open at 6.30pm
